Its Raining Jobs

Its a good kind of rain…

So, some pretty exciting news to report. This is one of those examples of where working for free and donating your time on smaller productions really CAN pay off in the form of paid work later on. Keep the dream alive!

In the past 48 hours I have had not one, but two potential paying jobs in Film sent my way by people I’ve worked with in the past. Since the dates conflict, I was only able to take on one of them but how rare is that? I spent 4 months unemployed before this and now I am teaching, have an interview for another teaching job and two potential film jobs all in the span of a few weeks.

The job I took is doing Production Design on a TV Pilot for APTN. This is a huge step for me as it marks new territory (Television) for my experience and resume. Although I have been on a TV set before, (Robson Arms) I haven’t actually worked in Television, so I’m very excited to see what kinds of creative challenges this will bring. It seems like a really fantastic project and there is certainly a chance it could get picked up for a season, which could mean more work down the line. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me, ok?
